Harborne Special Care Centre
This special care centre for the elderly involved a two- storey building with four bedroom blocks, communal areas and a day centre. We built internal blockwork walls and used external cladding with natural split faced stonework, and brickwork pillars with feature bands.
The challenges of this project included laying random length pieces of natural stone around a radius on one elevation, and overcoming the restraints of a tight site bounded by a densely populated residential area. Thanks to good communication with all the other contractors and the client, the logistics of the project were efficiently managed and the works were completed ahead of schedule.
The client, architect and main contractor all commented throuhgout the contract on the high standard of FASTFIX workmanship. As a result of this success, FastFix were awarded the the final care centre in the Birmingham Partnership Scheme, located in Sheldon Heath.
